I’m a software engineer and photographer. I am passionate about combining machine learning and systems programming to develop great products.
Currently, I’m working on the reasoning team at OpenAI.
My primary personal projects are my YouTube channel about autonomous driving, this blog, and the associated email newsletter.

Previously, I have:
- Worked as an engineering manager at Nuro, an autonomous vehicle startup focused on local goods delivery. My team developed tools for data mining, retrieval, and labeling to accelerate the development of machine learning models. Later, we also took on system validation and 3D visualization tools used to analyze the robot’s behavior. Our tools supported nearly all machine learning teams at Nuro.
- Interned at Snap as a research engineer in the computational imaging group.
- Served as Head TA for Advanced Programming (the C/C++ “systems programming class with a narrative”) and Operating Systems. I have also TAed Computer Vision.
- Developed prototypes of future products during internships on the camera software and UIKit teams at Apple.
- Worked on mobile apps at Yelp.
- Built infrastructure at Tanius Technology, a proprietary trading firm.
